Hike: Abbotsbury & Chesil Beach

Our second* visit to Abbotsbury took us to the Subtropical Gardens and inevitably Chesil Beach.

The gardens were a delightful surprise, and we spent a while exploring all corners, including traversing the Burmese rope bridge, meeting the resident golden pheasants and enjoying the exceptional views over towards Devon.

Chesil Beach was very challenging: we intended to get to the dragon’s teeth WWII fortifications, but the wind was bitter and the shingle slow going. We earned our Dorset Cream Tea today!

* The Swannery did not present enough of a ‘hike’ to appear here, but is certainly worth a visit!
